YHHF1000Ⅱ Thermoplastic Preheater Operation Manual

Thermoplastic preheater is an main device for road marking construction. It is used to heat, stir and melt thermoplastic paints, and then the melted paint shall be fed into the road marking machine to work. The thermoplastic preheater is adapt to long-distance road marking construction. You can choose the right capacity according to your requirements.

Today we here use the YHHF1000KG hydraulic double-cylinder thermoplastic preheater to show you how to operate the preheater.

It normally takes 30-40 minutes to melt a cylinder of paint. However, melting time would be different in different weather and temperature. As you know, the bottom of cylinder is cold before use, so it need more time to melt the first cylinder. Thus, it is necessary to prepare paint melting before marking.
Before operation thermoplastic preheater, we need to prepare fire control devices, liquified gas pot, painting and various oil. Such as diesel, hydraulic oil, engine oil, cooling water and some tools like wrench, screwdriver. Now, our operator wear the gloves and respirator.

1.Firstly, inspect thermoplastic preheater status before operation

1) Check and ensure all pipelines of the preheater have been installed, and make sure all gas pipelines and oil pipes can not incur gas leaking and oil leaking. Close switches of all gases.

2)Check dial plate of thermometer to assure no damage and its indicator in normal scale. Please immediately replace it if there is any problem.

3)Check stirring paddle to assure its switch is normal. Facing forward means Clockwise stirring, standing middle means neutral gear and facing backwards means Counter-clockwise stirring. Please set it as the neutral gear before operation.

4)If there is water in cylinder, please open the paint emptying door to drain water. Open the Feeding door to operate.

5) Make sure the diesel engine has been fed enough diesel, hydraulic oil, engine oil and water (used as cooling water)
Engine oil: add moderate diesel pursuant to oil scale.
Diesel: No.0 diesel. It should not spill.
Water: added until it floats up.
Hydraulic oil: No.46 anti-wear hydraulic oil. It is fine to add 50L-60 L. (keeping the oil valve open).

6) Make preparation for fire prevention and protection.
The truck should be equipped with an extinguisher. Operators should wear clothes with long sleeves and wear masks for avoiding breathing gas when paint is burning, and wear gloves to stop hand burning.

2.Secondly, thermoplastic preheater operation steps

1)Please do not add too much paint at one time, it needs to be added by several times. Add 50-75kg paint to hot melting kettle for the first time.

2)Open the valve, fire the gun head. Uncover the igniting hole to ignite. First put the gun into igniting hole, then open the valve and to adjust fire strength. Take out the fire gun after firing and put it out, then hang it on the kettle.

3)Start the diesel engine when paint temperature reaches 100~120℃. Ensure operating handle of reversing valve is in neutral gear before starting diesel engine. Empty the air in the diesel engine. Now start the diesel engine.

4)Open reversing valve to stir, add 50-75kg new paint when the original paint becomes sticky. re-add paint when it becomes sticky. Add it like this one after the other, and interval for every time is about 10 minutes. However, the total added paint should be less than 4/5 of volume of the kettle.

5)When temperature of the paint in kettle grows to 180~210℃, the entire paint will become fluid. Drop the melted paints into road marking machine, then you can start lines marking works.

6)Please don’t make the temperature of the paint in kettle too high, and please don’t keep heating the paints over 220℃ constantly.

7)Adding paint should be determined by project amount, construction time and weather. In normal, the paint should be used up after construction. Use a particular container to put the remain paint, and break it into pieces after cooling for use of next construction.
